Welcome to the website of the Sacred Heart, Chew Valley, part of the Clifton Diocese.
We are a rural parish lying south of Bristol and west of Bath but north of the Mendip Hills set in beautiful countryside. Covering a large geographical area from Dundry, Winford and Felton in the North to Chewton Mendip in the South, Blagdon and Burrington in the West to Norton Malreward, Pensford and Clutton to the East. In all, the parish covers 26 villages and many hamlets and contains the beautiful reservoirs and nature reserves that are the Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes.
The parish unites Catholics from all these many villages and hamlets, and is warm and welcoming to visitors and parishioners alike. Whilst Sunday Mass is our focus we enjoy many social events such as skittles, croquet, the annual Pet Service and the Parish Lunch which also brings everyone together as a parish family. We have an active Mother Teresa Group in the parish which sends clothes to some of the neediest people in our world and we have supported many appeals from areas struggling as a result of poverty and natural disasters.
We engage in many ecumenical events in our various villages as our parish covers 5 Church of England parishes and are proud to be part of the effort to draw together all of Christ’s followers.
Our website offers you a little glimpse into our Parish’s life. We do hope you find what it is you are looking for.
We look forward to welcoming you to the parish.
